America – On the road for 30 days (Part III)

Wow, 30 days is almost up. We have already spent three weeks in America, two of those have been spent on the road visiting places and friends along the way, staying at random roadside motels and sometimes with obliging friends/family. Lakeside weekend with the EVE boys went really well and now we head east and north into Canada … our final leg of this holiday before turning back down south through New England and finishing up back in New York. It will be a sad day indeed when we have to leave all this behind but we will take with us many pictures (oh God to I have a lot of pictures!) and a whole lot more memories, ones which will be with me forever and ever. It has been one hell of a trip and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

America – On the road for 30 days (Part II)

Arrived in Raleigh, North Carolina and had a wonderful time meeting new friends and chowing down on some serious Carolinian barbecue. After two days we are back on the road heading further west towards Nashville, Tennessee. But before we do we spend an entire day driving through Cherokee Indian Reservation and up into the Great Smoky Mountains – America’s favourite and most visited national park. Along the way there is a bit of drama and once in Nashville we have one of the best dinner experiences of the entire trip, all thanks to a guy we know as Ted.

America – On the road for 30 days (Part I)

Having spent 5 whole days soaking in the atmosphere of NYC we pick up our rental SUV and head south on a roadtrip through some of America’s most iconic national parks and visit some of the famous historic monuments. I travel with a food list and while on the road I am always on the look out for food that’s on that list so I can tick them off. From here we make a few overnight pit stops at roadside motels and finish off with a proper 2-night stay in an Airbnb rental in Raleigh, N.C.

I Heart America – Five days in New York

The journey began here … my maiden visit to the USA and it was everything I had hoped for and more. We spent a month driving around the northeast portion of the map and finished off in Canada to catch the leaves in all their autumnal glory. This trip has been amazing and I have definitely fallen in love with America, the land of the free.

Chocolate Biscotti Mousse

Wow, my first trip to the USA and I actually had time to make dessert and feature a new blog post – that’s never happened before. Well the month long holiday has well and truly come to an end. We have packed up and left New York and arrived home today. It is approximately 3 am and I am wide awake after having slept significantly in the afternoon. So screwed. Write blog post. Enjoy.
