Moroccan Beef & Pearl Couscous Salad

This will be the last salad dish in a series of salad dishes I have presented this month. Hoping to go out with a bang by featuring a flavourful and robust salad of pan-seared beef fillet, on a bed of pearl couscous and vegetables. I saved the best for last … and this one was AMAZEBALLS.

Thai Ground Pork & Bean Thread Noodle Salad

Time now for another exciting southeast Asian salad dish, and today I am hopping across the border once again into Thailand. This dish, known as Larb Moo, involves ground pork, fresh herbs and chillies, all mixed in with glassy bean thread noodles. Serve chilled or at room temp for an amazing afternoon delight.

Shepherd’s Pie and a very stressful 24 hours.

Some people call these babies a Cottage Pie, while others prefer to call them a Shepherd’s Pie. Most pies contain a filling of mince beef, while others wanna go the traditional way and use lamb … but all are topped generously with creamy, buttery potato mash and ALL are 100% honest to goodness real comfort food. After what we’ve just been thru … we need all the comfort we can get.

Udon in Mushroom & Mince Meat Sauce

It’s breakfast time here in western Europe, and guess what I’m having? I adore tossed noodles in thick black sauce but you can’t always find them where I live now. It’s times like these I miss the convenience of my favourite hawker stall and just ordering a bowl, accompanied with a glass of ‘teh peng’ (iced milk tea).

Braised Pork Chops with Green Apple & Mustard Gravy.

Mid-week meals drive me crazy coz I never really know what to cook for dinner. If I had my way I would eat chicken 5x a week and then maybe spice things up a little on the weekends with fish or a slab of beef. But I don’t live on my own ergo, I have to make mid-week meals appealing to the rather fussy-eater boyfriend who by the way, would be happy with a daily dose of steak and chips.
