A Country Christmas Fair : Kasteel de Haar, Haarzuilens.

Today R and I headed to Utrecht to check out a Christmas market held on the private property of a wealthy family. Said property boasts ample manicured lawns, a formal garden, ponds, avenues, a chapel and its very own castle with a moat around it. The picture of the castle in the advertisement brochure did not do it justice one bit. If ever you are in the Netherlands then you must put Kasteel de Haar on your MUST SEE list, believe me.

Help!! There isn’t any food in the house!

What to do in the event that your pantry only has a can of tuna and your fridge has a leftover bowl of potatoes. You improvise and draw on past experienes, then get down to it. Got this brilliant idea when I was in the South Pacific island of Vanuatu.

Cooking the French Way

In June I was in Paris for my birthday and R signed me up for a French cooking class. I spent the day shopping for ingredients, then cooking up a 3-course meal. A wonderful time spent at La Cuisine Paris cooking school.
