A beautiful warming fish & seafood stew, served in a crusty bread bowl. I have always wanted to serve soup this way … and now I have finally done so … yay, me! This soup can be done with clams and mussles too, if you find it difficult to get hold of lobster.

It has been a full week (and more!) since my last post. But I have been fiddling around with my baking behind the scenes, and today I present these lovely Quick-rise Soda Breads; just in time for St Patrick’s day … and Easter.

Korean Seafood Pancakes 해물파전
Lately I have been all about the Japanese/ Korean YouTube surfing and I came across this recipe that seemed very interesting. I do enjoy savoury pancakes of this nature but I never knew how to make them myself … until now. Simple ingredients may go a long way here.

Japanese Curry Bread カレーパン
These Japanese sure have a wide variety of interesting snacks. This one is called karē pan, a deep-fried snack made of everyday white bread, leftover curry and panko crumbs. Looks good. Tastes great!

Breakfast Delights : BuckWheat Pancakes with Scrambled Eggs + Smoked Salmon
Not a fan of sweet pancakes? Then have plain ones instead, with a nice neutral flavour accompanied by some eggs and smoked salmon. Indulge in a spot of champagne while you’re at it, perhaps?

Ginger Orange & Cranberry Holiday Sauce
Here is a wonderful homemade cranberry sauce that is NOT fresh from the tin. This is super easy and super delicious … great with poultry of any kind, or serve it on buttery toast for a special Christmas day brunch. In my case, I served it up with chicken balls for Super Bowl weekend.

Party Food : Oven Baked Chicken Balls
This is me trying to get into the swing of all things American, and doing my bit in conjunction with Super Bowl weekend. I understand that the food consumed on this day doesn’t rank high on the nutrition scale, so here is an alternative, in case you’re looking for one.

Ginger & Chicken Rice Porridge with Poached Egg
Ginger & chicken rice porridge is very warming, very filling and healthy. I used to hate it as a kid, but only because my Mom ruined it for me. Now, however, I am determined to rediscover this quintessential Asian staple and give it the recognition it deserves.

Party Food : Smoked Salmon Tartlets
Bite-sized pieces of food is where I like to play. It may be a tad time consuming to make little nibblies x50, but I love presenting them. This recipe is a wonderful way to incorporate fish into your hors d’oeuvres menu. It’s light, it’s fresh and has a bit of zing coming from the lemony notes.
