This is a wonderfully delicious pasta dish, full of briny big flavours. Black kalamata olives, anchovies and caper berries all mixed together with fresh tomatoes and garlic. Simplicity and satisfaction all in one bowl. Not bad for a first attempt either. I enjoyed every mouthful. Mmmm … yummies in my tummies.

I love making cookies for gifts because one recipe usually yields LOTS of cookies … and more often than not, one cookie base can be turned into a wide variety of flavours simply by varying the topping. Today I had some leftover cookie dough from a previous recipe and I am turning this one into a sweet lavender shortbread cookie. Perfect for teatime guests and gifts.

This tart was inspired by my recent trip to Brittany, France. We went for just a weekend and returned home with quite a few delicious local products, one of them being a jar of St-Malo salted butter caramel. Warm tart, gooey caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream … sounds like perfection to me.

Short road trip into Germany to visit Burg Eltz, a medieval castle on the banks of the Elzbach River. Freezing temps, gorgeous forests and scenery, and the food was to die for. Just be sure to bring your appetite with you for German portions are generous; VERY generous.
